Blog 8: English Language Challenges. Hi everyone. I really appreciate the effort that the teacher gives to his classes, and I must regret not having as a student had all the participation that I would like, knowing the effort that the preparation of the classes implies. This is honestly due to the difficulty of online classes, as well as the cost of effort and time that the end of the semester has meant for me in my career. Beyond that, my appraisals about the course are positive, I think the teacher made good decisions when using celebrity interviews, fragments of miscellaneous texts (including literature) and other material for classes in English. The online mode was what made learning difficult, I believe that this kind of class can give more of itself in a face-to-face mode, where we can interact much better and more naturally. Regarding blogs, I think they were very positive for my learning, because they involved touching on interesting topics regarding our university expe...

Blog 7: Changes to my study program. Hi everyone. I believe that the anthropology syllabus has certain unresolved errors. To begin with, I consider that it is a mistake that in the curriculum it is considered a predominant approach to social anthropology, because although it is true that this discipline is very important, it must be understood that anthropology at the University of Chile is a career that It is divided in its last three years into three specialties, which are archeology (which is what I study), biological anthropology and social anthropology. On the other hand, the first two years the future students of the three specialties study together, and my complaint is summarized that during these first two years the training is mainly given on social anthropology, while there is not much advance of the other two specialties, so those who choose biological anthropology and archeology largely have to start from scratch with the knowledge of its mention. I propose to have more sub...

Blog 5: My future job. Hi everyone. I would like to work as an archaeologist, I will work in excavations carried out in the context of environmental evaluation studies, in which the damage that an economic exploitation project does to the nature of the territory it affects must be studied, in these studies too It is necessary to study if exists or not archaeological heritage in the affected area. If the answer is yes, the archaeological material is rescued. These types of studies are the most common type of work that archaeologists have in Chile, so the probability of working there is high. On the contrary, doing your own archaeological research for your own research purposes with direct funding from the state is a very difficult activity to do due to the large number of requirements that must be met and the little employment it provides. In general, it is a job that requires many travels, because, although there is employ, it is of short duration, and it is necessary to quick...

Blog 3: TV Series Hi everyone. I would like to see the Japanese animated series Kimetsu no Yaiba, because it has very epic action scenes and because of the first episodes that I saw a long time ago and that I really liked. Heard there was even a movie released. About the platforms I use to watch series, I must admit with guilt (or not really) that I continue to use illegal pirate websites, this because I do not have the resources for a monthly payment from a legal streaming platform. The series that I have seen the most times is Neon Genesis Evangelion, I like it a lot and also it is the series that I would like to recommend to anyone, its cool. I would like to see in the future the live action series "Cowboy Bebop" that will premiere on Netflix and that adapts the Japanese animated series of the same name. I really liked the original series for its animation style and eccentric adventures, so I hope the new adaptation and remake lives up to the masterpiece it is based on. Th...

Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies Hi everyone. I love archeology, which is the career I study, and I am sure that I want to study a postgraduate degree related to this same area, especially I would like to enter the Magister of Archeology at the University of Chile. Apart from this magister, I am also interested in studying abroad, in particular something related to archeology and historiography of old world civilizations, such as Egypt, Greece or Rome. This is because since I was a child I have felt a fascination with these cultures, I have always felt more linked to those remote realities than to my own reality, deep down it has something of escapism. I would like to go to Europe to study postgraduate studies related to the oldest civilizations of the Levant and Europe, and then investigate their remains directly. Obviously it is more likely that I have my studies and my work in Chile, or if I am lucky in near countries; but dreaming is free. About the study modality, I prefer the face-t...

Blog 1: A country I would like to visit. Hi comrades, welcome to my first blog. I would like to travel to Greece, because I am very interested in its culture and history. During my childhood I investigated about ancient Greece and its origins, art, wars, religion and fall. It has always been my dream to go lo de land where born occidental civilization. I am especially interested in the ruins of Mycenae, which was a very mysterious civilization, even until today, which makes it more fascinating for me. I would like to meet the local people, including their gastronomy, traditions, language, and art. I would also like to visit the Aegean Sea is full of many paradise islands with white houses with very distinctive architecture. And, in addition, it is a sea rich in marine species, so I suppose that Greek gastronomy will be very diverse in fishes and shellfish. Above all, I would be interested in working as an archaeologist in Greece, especially about the Mycenaean civilization, a...
